Letting Go...

I am currently teaching myself to let go, to let it be.  In the words of The Beatles, "Speaking words of wisdom: Let it be."  Those words are wise, sometimes we just need to let it go, and let God.  I am a victim of overcommitting and perfectionism, a deadly combination when combined.  God is currently teaching me that it is okay to get a B on a test, of God forbid a C.  Life is not about being the perfect student, the perfect daughter, the perfect anything.  We are not perfect, and that is why we need a Savior,  because no matter how hard we try to overcome the pressures and expectations of this world, the faster we sink.  We need to let go, let go of the world's standards of perfection.  Because they are unrealistic, we can not be shaped like Barbie, as smart as Einstein, as rich as the Kardashians, or as funny as Conan O'Brien... we are who we are.  God made us this way for a reason, he has called us to something and instead of stressing over minute details we should search relentlessly for God's calling for each of us.  

Countdown to Christmas: Some Christmas Tunes

It’s about that time of year again – I’m talking about the holiday season, of course. What’s better than some good ol’ holiday music to help get you in the mood for the upcoming holidays? Nothing. My summer obsession = So You Think You Can Dance
My sister and I are both dancers, and are just in complete AWE at some of these dances.  I get chills watching these dances, they are so beautifully done and the dancers poured out their heart and soul while dancing.  The best type of dance, the type where you can view the dancers heart :)

Romans twelve:twelve

I know I forget the power of prayer, and who truly amazing it is.  It isn't something we just say at dinner or before we go to bed, it isn't a "get out of jail free card", it isn't a time for only"I want's".  But it IS the opportunity to sit at the feet of our almighty, loving Father and the opportunity to run into His arms.  Praying, or saying grace isn't just another ritual, it is a way to live.  It should be who we are, we should want to run with a reckless abandon into the arms of the one who breathed life into our souls.  This has been put on my heart recently, and I felt like I needed to write it out as I reminder to myself, just as much as I am writing it to anyone else.

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday evening, and I hope and pray that this reached out to at least a single person :)

My secret obsession... Cody Simpson.  Yes, the adorable Australian boy.  Here is a secret,promise not to tell?  A week or so ago, I had a dream he sang this song to me, and I have been "in love" with his luscious blonde locks ever since.
